After growing up working in the restaurant business, and then 17 years in the beer industry, Founder Shark Gabe was ready for a change. He figured if he could take his two biggest passions, spicy food and sharks, and turn that into a career, it would be a pretty fun life. With some family recipes, and help from his family and friends, he took the summer of 2018 to put together the blueprints for The Spicy Shark. The feeding frenzy began February of 2019!

PORTSMOUTH -- An inaugural Sharktoberfest will pair wings and beer, with a portion of proceeds benefiting a shark-preservation program and the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation.
Craft hot sauce maker Gabe DiSaverio has teamed with Sam Adams beer to launch Sharktoberfest at nine Seacoast restaurants that will sell “Spicy Shark Wings” with a pint of Sam Adams Octoberfest and he said a dollar from each sale will go toward the two marine charities. Read the full article here.
Hot sauce maker Gabe DiSaverio has released a scorching hot, 7-Pot Primo Pepper-infused sauce he spent six months developing, with a fictional sea creature to match.
DiSaverio worked for Sam Adams for 17 years before launching his Spicy Shark line of hot sauces in February 2019. The Atlantic Heights resident last year won seven national Scovie awards, including grand prize, for his line of hot sauces, initially labeled with one to five shark fins, to indicate level of hotness.
Gabe DiSaverio calls himself a “Jaws nut.”
He’s into anyone, or anything that has any connection to the 1975 killer-shark blockbuster movie “Jaws.” The obsession has infiltrated all facets of his life.
DiSaverio’s vacations have been Jaws themed, his business and conservation efforts revolve around sharks, and his daughter’s middle name is Ellen, after Jaws character Police Chief Martin Brody’s wife.
“I’m pretty sure I can scientifically prove it’s the greatest movie ever made,” he said.
Part of his Jaws fandom includes a 15-year search for a 1975 Chevy Blazer, like the one Chief Brody drove in the movie. While business lagged during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Portsmouth resident scoured the internet, saw one up for auction, maybe in his price range, so he asked his wife, Jill Fratianne, what she thought...
